It’s four months since war broke out in Ukraine and we all watched on in horror as the Ukrainian people experienced yet more devastation to their lives and country.
Four months on and the destruction continues, day in, day out.
The rest of the world may have become more used to hearing about it in the news, and perhaps we all feel a little less shocked than when war first broke out back in February, but the horror and fear that the innocent people of Ukraine continue to face is something that they will never, ever get used to.
And as is always the travesty of war, millions of innocent children are the victims as their lives are turned upside down, enduring fear and loss that nobody should ever have to experience in their lifetime.
When the war broke out, many of us donated clothes and money with some people even welcoming Ukrainian families into their homes. But many of us don’t know what we can do to help now.
Well, you can do something.
Something small but still something, and all it involves is buying a #NoMoreWarShit T-shirt.
And by buying a #NoMoreWar Shit T-shirt every penny of profit goes towards Save the Children’s Emergency Fund which is helping Ukrainian children and their families through the toughest time of their lives.
The money donated is helping the crisis response team reach 3.5 million vulnerable children and their families by:
- distributing essential supplies and kits of clothing and blankets,
- providing cash and voucher assistance to families to meet basic needs like food, rent and medicines,
- offering vital mental health and psychological and social support to children and their families,
- providing access to safe, inclusive and quality education.
- addressing needs across health and nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene and shelter.
From Afghanistan to Yemen, there are sadly yet millions more in desperate danger right now. They too need our help to survive.
By supporting the campaign you are helping reach children in Ukraine, Afghanistan and also Yemen whose lives have been shattered by war, as well as helping protect those at extreme risk in East Africa.
War is a hideous atrocity, one that it’s hard to believe is still happening in this day and age. As the actor, Ray Winstone, said in his recent post supporting the campaign, “Have we not learnt anything?” It would seem sadly some have not Ray, but let’s try to spread the message to stop this war shit and at the same time help Save the Children change the lives of children everywhere.
